Nondecoupling of Heavy Mirror-Fermion

چکیده

According to one-loop perturbation theory, fermions whose masses are totally generated from Yukawa couplings do not decouple in the heavy mass limit. We investigate this issue nonperturbatively in the strong coupling regime of the chiral U(1) mirror-fermion model in four dimensions. Our numerical results, obtained on 6 · 16, 6 · 24 and 8 · 16 lattices, indicate nondecoupling of heavy fermion and mirror-fermion, thus supporting the one-loop picture.

Nonperturbative evidence for nondecoupling of heavy fermions.

We investigate, using a I/N expansion, the behavior of a parameter in the scalar-fermion sector of the standard model that shows perturbative nondecoupling as the fermion becomes heavy. This low-energy parameter is related to the 5 parameter defined through W3-8 mixing. We obtain the leading 1/N contribution to this parameter that, if expanded perturbatively, collapses to its constant one-loop ...

Nonperturbative decoupling and effective field theory.

We examine recent claims that nonperturbative effects can prevent the decoupling of a heavy fermion whose mass arises from a Yukawa coupling to a scalar field. We show that in weakly coupled, four dimensional models such as the standard model with heavy mirror fermions the effects of the heavy fermions can always be accounted for by local operators involving light fields. We contrast this with ...

Pair of Heavy-Exotic-Quarks at LHC

We study the production and signatures of heavy exotic quarks pairs at LHC in the framework of the vector singlet model (VSM), vector doublet model (VDM) and fermion-mirror-fermion (FMF) model. The pair production cross sections for the electroweak and strong sector are computed.

Mirror matter and heavy singlet neutrino oscillations in the early universe Nicole

We investigate the mixing of heavy gauge singlet neutrinos in a mirror matter model employing the seesaw mechanism. The parameter constraints that must be satisfied to prevent the overproduction of mirror matter in the early universe are deduced. We find that no fine tuning in the heavy neutral fermion sector is required for this mirror matter model to satisfy cosmological constraints. Baryogen...

DESY 96-047 Violations of universality in a vectorlike extension of the standard model

Violations of universality of couplings in a vectorlike extension of the standard model with three heavy mirror fermion families are considered. The recently observed discrepancies between experiments and the standard model in the hadronic branching fractions Rb and Rc of the Z-boson are explained by the mixing of fermions with their mirror fermion partners.
